Best new product for Scolmore's IEC Lock

Scolmore Group is delighted to have come away with the highly coveted ‘Best New Product’ trophy at this year’s Electrical Wholesaler Awards, for its IEC Lock™ range of unique, patented IEC locking connectors.

Scolmore Group also received two ‘highly commended’ certificates on the night – one for Scolmore’s Inceptor Nano Tricolour Fire-Rated Downlight in the Best Lighting Product category and one for ESP’s GuardCam Deco combined Wi-Fi security camera and LED floodlight system in the Best Safety/Security Product category.

The award-winning product, IEC Lock™, is a unique mechanism for locking IEC Connectors. It is designed to provide protection against accidental disconnection of computer equipment, servers and most network devices by way of a unique and patented locking mechanism. The beautifully straightforward high-visibility locking mechanism is combined with a simple release mechanism which allows for disconnection from all sides. Ideal as a retrofit solution, it requires no other equipment or special inlets to secure it.

Since the first IEC Lock product was introduced in 2010, Scolmore has continued to invest and develop the range, earning accolades along the way. For 2019 a total of seven new products have been added to the award-winning range, which builds on the features of existing products to satisfy customer demand and complete the range offer.

Comments Marie Parry, Scolmore group marketing director: “We are thrilled to have been awarded best new product for the IEC Lock range. This goes to show that it is not always about recognition for the latest smart technologies, but those products which provide a fundamental function in a clever and unique way.”

Applications for the IEC Lock range are wide-ranging and include military, broadcast, medical, transportation and data centres. A number of world-renowned organisations are utilising IEC Lock™ products to provide critical protection solutions. These include BskyB - providing vital protection for servers and IT equipment at a number of data centres throughout its UK network; Kongsberg Maritime - Norwegian technology enterprise; ADP - global provider of cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions and EPS Electric Power Systems – one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of Data Centre Infrastructure and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) products.
